Season By Season In Spokane
This popular literary festival celebrates literature with a weeklong series of readings, workshops, panel discussions, contests, and more. An annual 12K run beginning and ending in downtown Spokane, the Bloomsday draws more than 50,000 competitive runners, joggers, walkers and other outdoor lovers. While the sweet scent of lilac hangs in the air, Spokane (aka the Lilac City) hosts the weeklong Spokane Lilac Festival. This annual event is the largest LGBT gathering in Eastern Washington State. Spectators and basketball players gather every summer for Spokane Hoopfest, the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world. A great way to wrap up summer, Spokane’s annual Pig Out in the Park brings together local bands and food vendors for six days of fun along Riverfront Park. Enjoy big screen favorites, food trucks, and live entertainment at BECU Movies at Riverfront Park. Shop for fresh fruits and veggies, baked goodies, and local eggs, cheese, and honey on Wednesdays, 8 am - 1 pm, at the Spokane Farmers' Market downtown. The colorful 5K Bare Buns Fun Run is the largest clothing-optional timed road race in the country. Head to the Spokane Arena for the Spokane Brew Fest featuring more than 30 local breweries, plus live music. Spokane County Fair & Expo Center Spokane Valley’s biggest fest offers fun for the whole family, including local musicians and entertainment on two stages, a car show, hot air ballooning, and much more. One of Spokane's largest annual events, the Interstate Fair features livestock exhibits, food, carnival rides, music, and more. The largest indoor antique and collectors event of its kind in the inland Northwest, Custer’s features 200 dealers participating from all over the west coast. Shop among thousands of vintage treasures including: Kitchenware, Industrial, Estate and Costume Jewelry, Furniture, Primitives, Rustic Garden, Elegant Glass, Shabby Chic, Prints, Retro and more!
